Terms of Service
Welcome to ACME VIN CHECKER (“ACME,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By visiting acmevinchecker.com (the “Website”) or purchasing/using our services (the “Services”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”), our Privacy Policy, and the disclosures below. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.
If you have questions, contact support@acmevinchecker.com.
1) What we do
ACME provides on-demand vehicle information reports for used vehicles. Reports may include data from the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS) and other third-party sources and partners.
2) Eligibility & using ACME
You must be 18+ (or the age of majority in your location).
You may use ACME only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
One person/legal entity per account. Accounts are non-transferable without our written consent. (Guest checkout may be available and does not require an account.)
3) Purchases, pricing & payments
Prices are shown in U.S. Dollars and may change at any time.
Payments are processed by third-party processors (e.g., Stripe/PayPal). By paying, you authorize those processors to charge your payment method for the applicable amount, taxes, and any required fees.
Because reports are digital goods delivered instantly, all sales are final. If a valid VIN report fails to generate due to our systems, contact us and we’ll work to fix it or provide a reasonable remedy.
4) License & permitted use
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Services and to download/keep a copy of reports for your own personal or internal business use.
You may not (without our written consent):
copy, reproduce, scrape, mirror, sell, resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit any reports or access to the Services;
modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the Services;
use robots, spiders, or similar tools to collect data from the Website;
misrepresent a report as your own product or resell ACME data.
5) Intellectual property
The Website, Services, and all related content, design, code, trademarks, and logos are owned by ACME or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ACME IP rights to you. Third-party content remains the property of its respective owners.
6) Electronic records & signatures
By using the Services, you agree to transact electronically and accept that clicks, checkboxes, and electronic submissions constitute your signature and agreement to these Terms and any order you place. You are responsible for any hardware/software required to access and retain electronic records.
7) Service availability & changes
We strive to keep ACME available, fast, and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may update, improve, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time.
We may also update pricing or features from time to time.
8) Data sources & important disclosures
NMVTIS Consumer Access Disclosure
NMVTIS is a U.S. system that contains title, brand, and certain historical information on vehicles titled in the United States. While many states, insurers, and salvage/junk yards report to NMVTIS, not all vehicles or events appear in the system, and reporting frequency varies by state (some real-time, others delayed). Significant prior damage may be absent if a vehicle was not branded or declared a total loss by an insurer or state.
A vehicle history report is not a substitute for a professional inspection. Always have any vehicle independently inspected before purchase. Learn more at vehiclehistory.gov.
ACME Data Disclaimer
Our reports compile information from government agencies, non-profits, industry databases, and approved NMVTIS data providers. Accuracy depends on those sources. ACME and its partners do not warrant the completeness, accuracy, timeliness, or fitness of any information and disclaim all warranties, express or implied.
9) Third-party materials & links
The Services may display or link to third-party sites, products, or data. We do not control or endorse those sites or materials and are not responsible for their content or practices. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and may be governed by their terms.
10) Prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
use the Services in violation of any law or regulation;
attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Website or user data;
interfere with or disrupt the operation or security of the Services;
use or share reports in ways that violate privacy, IP, consumer-reporting, or other laws.
11) Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access (and/or any account) at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you violated these Terms or for any reason. You remain responsible for charges incurred before termination. We may also discontinue the Services in whole or in part.
You may stop using the Services at any time. If you have an account, you may request closure by contacting us.
12) Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICES AND ALL CONTENT/REPORTS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” ACME AND OUR SUPPLIERS/PARTNERS DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
13) Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ACME AND OUR OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, AND PARTNERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid to ACME for the report giving rise to the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, the above limits apply to the fullest extent allowed.
14) Legal compliance & export
You are responsible for complying with all applicable laws related to your use of the Services. You may not use the Services in any jurisdiction where such use would be illegal or prohibited.
15) Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised Terms on this page with a new “Effective date.” Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
16) Miscellaneous
Entire agreement. These Terms (plus any order details and our Privacy Policy) are the entire agreement between you and ACME regarding the Services.
Severability. If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect.
No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them.
Force majeure. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
